Sponsorship is really import to the Friends and to the Orchestras. Please check out our sponsors without whom we wouldn't be able to do so many of the things that are so important to the Youth Orchestras and Ensembles.
In the past few years, funds raised through sponsorship and subscriptions have enabled the ‘Friends’ to do the following:

Purchases

Donation of five new half-size cello and sheet music for the String Training Orchestra;

Drum seating, trumpet and trombone mutes, saxophone stand;

24 new choir folders;

Commemorative badges for the 50th anniversary gala concert with Opera North in July 2005;

A multi-purpose music bag for all players in all orchestras and ensembles;

Five new sheet music arrangements for the Intermediate Wind Band;

Drum kit for the String Training Orchestra and Intermediate String Ensemble.

 

Foreign Tours

2004: subsidy of £11,250 for the Youth Orchestra tour to Portugal;

2005: subsidy of £6,500 for the Senior Wind Band tour to Belgium;

2006: subsidy of £9,500 for the Youth Orchestra tour to Poland;

2007: subsidy of £9,500 for the Senior Wind Band and Jazz Orchestra to Switzerland;

2008: subsidy of £9,240 for the Youth Orchestra tour to Catalonia;

2009: subsidy of £9,700 for the Senior Wind Band and Jazz Orchestra to France and Belgium.

 

Other Subsidies

Sponsorship of Master Class Workshops at the Beverley Chamber Music Festival (£500 in 2007, 2008 and 2009);

Coach travel to concert venues;

£500 to repair percussion and timpani;

Sponsor Guest conductors;

Sponsor a String Training Course (£500 in 2007, £600 in 2009);

Helped a group of players to attend a National Youth Orchestra concert in Leeds in 2007.
